The first one is always the hardest, but often when offers come more follow. This could be the case for Longmont High School lineman Justin Hansen who reported earlier today that he will receive his first offer from Colorado State University. When asked what it was like to gain his initial offer Hansen responded, "It is great, pretty cool getting my first offer."
The CSU offer came in the wake of Hansen's performance this past weekend at Rams camp. Coming in at just under 6-5 Hansen weighed in at 284 pounds and ran a 4.9 forty. Along with his measurables, Hansen feels he had a strong camp and was able to, "throw and push some people around at camp, which impressed them." Hansen goes on to say that offensive coordinator/line coach Pat Meyer was, "very impressed with my performance at camp."
Although the first offer is now on the table, Hansen has no thoughts on taking it easy. This weekend he will camp at the University of Colorado and then follow that up with camps at Wyoming, Kansas State and Washington. Hansen, who plays basketball and throws shot and disc, has taken up wresting this summer to help with his leverage, endurance and strength.
With this first offer on the table and if Hansen can have more strong camp performances, expect his number of offers to grow.
