The Wyoming football staff was pleasantly surprised when they met Longmont two way lineman Justin Hansen this past weekend. Expecting to meet a young man in the 6-3 240-250 range an even bigger Hansen walked in the door. Wanting to confirm what their eyes showed them, the Wyoming staff measured Hansen at just over 6-5. The Cowboy staff was also surprised by Hansen's size as he tipped the scale at 278 pounds. With the eye test confirmed, the Wyoming staff invited Hansen to junior day this upcoming weekend.
Hansen's busy April travel itinerary does not end with Wyoming. Later this month, Hansen will travel to Washington to watch the Husky spring game. Hansen is also looking at a potential trip to the University of Nebraska.
In the midst of all this travel, Hansen still maintains his classes as well as participating in track and field. With basketball season over, the three sport athlete can concentrate on his throws as well as gaining weight and strength in the weight room. Already this track season Hansen has improved his shot distance from 47 to 52 feet.
The Colorado prep class of 2011 is solid with multiple offensive linemen drawing DI attention. Hansen joins Brendon Austin, Marc Mustoe as well as others that college programs are keeping a close watch on.
