Big slate of games sees live coverage of seven games from across Colorado.

Our friends from MileHigh sports are working overtime this week as they broadcast seven games from Thursday to Saturday.  Kicking off the coverage is a major Northern League brawl as undefeated Greeley West takes on once beaten Longmont.

Last season, West took it to Longmont 41-13 on the way to an undefeated season in league.  West looks like a team on a mission.  Last season, the Spartans were just a few snaps away from a 4A title and with their talented, experienced squad a date at Invesco could be on the way.  Offensively, senior QB Sean Blackmer is having a very strong season completing 66% of his passes with 13 TDs against only 2 pics.  Blackmer is supported by a diverse set of skill players that includes All-State running back Steffen Bunting and receivers Eric Ghent and Max Morgan.  Bunting is rushing for 185 yards a game this season and is currently on a tear, rushing for over 200 yards the past two games.  Defensively, lineman A.J. Frieler and the versatile Morgan at linebacker lead a unit that is allowing less than a TD a game.

Longmont, 6-1, looks to have found offensive consistency after a 3-13 loss to Loveland two weeks ago.  Since the loss, the Trojans are putting up over 30 points a game. A diverse running attack with multiple threats led by bruising QB Jake Johnson, has registered over 1,500 yards this season.  Johnson is also coming off his best passing performance of the year having thrown for 176 yards and two scores against Skyline.  Longmont’s strength is a defense that allows 12 points a game.

The early game Friday from Jeffco stadium has a very interesting Big Eight matchup as Arvada West takes on Bear Creek.  Both the Wildcats and Bears are coming off their biggest wins of the season as West defeated Pomona last week 31-14 and Bear Creek took it to Columbine 34-7.  Both the teams can put up points and the field will be full of big play performers.  Whoever has the ball last may bring home the win.

The second half of the Jeffco Friday night double header sees Chatfield take on Regis.  Regis is currently rolling having won two straight, the most of important being a 28-14 win over Bear Creek.  A win over the Chargers allows the Raiders to even their record going into the last week of the season.  For Chatfield, life continues without leader Sam Stratton.  Last week, Stratton’s replacement under center, Tim Gleason, put up over 300 yards of total offense in a win against Lakewood.  To get a top half seed come playoffs, the Chargers need to finish the regular season strong.

Along with these three games, MileHighSportsPreps brings you four other games from across the state, so if you can’t get out to a game, log on here to check out the live action of Colorado high school football.
