Sydney Donaldson (6’4” SG Longmont HS 2010, Longmont, Colorado) is having an excellent summer so far and his recruiting stock has been on the rise with his tremendous play. He is a very athletic wing who is a tenacious defender and gets to the rim with ease. He also has nice range out to the stripe and handles and passes the ball very well.
This past winter, Donaldson led his Longmont team to an 18-6 record and an appearance in the Elite Eight. On the year, he averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals per game on a very balanced team. In addition, Donaldson is a transplant from Great Britain and his uncle is former NBA All Star James Donaldson.
This spring Donaldson played very well for the Colorado Chaos and was named to the All-Tournament Teams at both the Colorado Elite Eight and Top of the Rockies tournaments. He followed up his strong spring with a very strong performance at the Denton Great American Shootout, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team while leading his Colorado Chaos team to the tournament Championship Game.
He is currently receiving strong interest from a host of schools, including Colorado State, Drake, Tulsa, Wyoming, Portland, Rice, Denver, Cal Poly, Liberty and Northern Colorado. This list is sure to grow after his very strong performance at the Denton Great American Shootout.
