DeLovell Earls (6'5" SF Colorado Springs School, Colorado Springs, Colorado 2010) is heading into the summer with some tremendous momentum. He recently finished up a very strong spring with the Colorado Chaos following a huge junior season with his high school team.
This spring, he and the Colorado Chaos won numerous tournaments, including the Houston Kingwood Classic in April. This past season, Earls was named Colorado's 2A Mr. Basketball while leading his team to a 25-2 record and their first State Title in any sport. On the season, he averaged 25 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals per game. Earls is a very versatile mid-sized player who would make some mid major schools very happy.
Earls recently received scholarship offers from Denver and Air Force after visiting both schools. He also has received strong interest from Colorado State, Dartmouth, Harvard, Columbia, U.C. Riverside and Montana State.
In addition to Earls' prowess on the court, he is a very strong student in the classroom and academics will play a major role in his college decision. Earls and the Colorado Chaos played this past weekend in the Denton Great American Shootout (Denton, Texas - July 10-13) Earls made the All-Tournament while helping his Chaos squad to the championship game where they lost a close one 74-69 to the Kansas City Keys.
Earls continues his very busy July as he heads to the Reebok Summer Championships (Las Vegas, Nevada - July 23-26) and the K.C. Preps/Price Chopper Invitational (Kansas City, Missouri - July 28-31.) If Earls continues to play at the high level he has all summer, especially at these high profile events, look for him to gain more offers.
