Denver East kicker Zach Grossnickle made an unofficial visit to the University of Kansas this past summer, but during his dual season of football and soccer, the 6-3 180 kicker and punter had not kept in contact with the Jayhawks so he was surprised today when Kansas made an offer. Grossnickle is an intriguing prospect for DI schools in that he is both a solid kicker and punter. This past season, while hitting on over 90 percent of his field goals, Grossnickle took one for 53 yards. Along with his kicking in football, Grossnickle was a key component of the Denver East soccer squad that won the 5A state title this fall.
With the KU offer, things look to be heating up for Grossnickle. In January, Grossnickle plans on making an official visit to the University of Colorado and next week he will travel to Fort Collins to visit Colorado State in what will be his first official visit. The University of Kansas has invited Grossnickle for an official visit, but Grossnickle is waiting for the end of the semester before he makes any further travel plans.
