6-4 285 pound offensive tackle Zach Ilse of Doherty High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado is sorting through numerous options regarding where he will play his college football. At this point, Ilse has no D1 offers, but does have numerous DII opportunities. Recently, Ilse has visited Colorado School of Mines, CSU Pueblo and Western State. Along with these schools, Chadron State in Nebraska is also interested.
Although it is late in the process, Ilse is currently speaking with the Air Force Academy regarding the opportunity to play. With a high GPA and a twenty-nine on his ACT, Ilse has the academics that the Academy is looking for. Zach’s father Jim is a graduate of the academy.
Right now, Ilse is playing basketball for a very good Doherty squad and hopes the time on the floor has improved his quickness. In football, Ilse was a rare four year starter. During his time in the trenches for the Spartans, Ilse blocked for Lammar Houston, Shawn Dewitty and Darius Turner.
