Douglas County, Legacy and
Pomona all go down this week, while Columbine, Mullen, Mountain Vista and Thomas
Jefferson remain unbeaten.
1.Columbine
Last week’s turbulent waters in
5A did not rock the battleship that is Columbine. The Rebels rolled once again this time
55-6 over Sand Creek.
2.Mullen
The Mustangs took care of
Eaglecrest 44-14 to remain unbeaten and atop the Centennial League. A Smoky Hill squad that likes to toss
the ball could test the secondary.
3. Mountain
Vista
The Golden Eagles move up to the
three spot and now hold sole possession of the Continental League lead with the
victory over Rangeview.
4. Thomas
Jefferson
The Spartans rolled over
Montbello 41-6 and a quick look at the schedule shows the potential for them to
run the table in the regular season.
5.Arvada
West
Many people, myself included, did
not give the Wildcats their due.
Last week Arvada West brought home a win over rival Pomona by
shutting down the Panther run game, this week they will need to keep the Mojo
going as they face #1 ranked Columbine.
6. Douglas
County
Ouch, the Huskies lost to
previously winless Regis. Look for
a ton of focus out of Douglas County this week as they take on a very talented
Heritage squad.
7. Cherry
Creek
The Bruins dispatched Smoky Hill
with ease 42-7, this week they take on a Boulder squad coming off a big win
against Overland.
8. Bear
Creek
Posted forty-two points on
Lakewood and should get more this week against winless Sand Creek.
9.Horizon
Debuts in the top ten after the
big win over rival Legacy. In the
past two games, Horizon has outscored opponents 73-6.
10.Legacy
Hopes to have all the bad out of
them after the loss to Horizon.
They will need to refocus as they take on Fort Collins Thursday
night.
