You make the call on this
one. 4A is wide open with these ten
teams along with others ready to start their season in an attempt to make a
playoff run.
#1 Ralston Valley
The Mustangs return key offensive
players including All-League QB Cameron Wright. The defense led by Dylan Lambert and
Jacob Perry is improved with the addition of former RB Sam Bierbaur at
backer. If the offensive line can
come together, Ralston Valley may come out on top of the wide open 4A
division.
#2 Loveland
The playmaking combo of QB Collin Klein and RB Jesse Lewis brings not only great skill but also tremendous
diversity to the offense. The
defense anchored by Kodi McPherson and Travis Nuziard will be solid.
#3 Monarch
Monarch is going to get shoe to
shoe on offense and pound the ball, couple that with solid defense and you have
a recipe for wins. Cale Soole established himself last season as a back that can
run between the tackles but with the speed to break big plays. LB Tyler Hamlin and DT Tyler Church
highlight a solid defense.
#4 ThunderRidge
A two loss, quarterfinal season
would make most programs in the state happy, but not ThunderRidge. Look for the Grizzlies to make a run as
RB Chris Nwoke handles the run game and Colorado State bound DE Zach Tiedgen and
DB Will Palamet anchor a strong defense.
#5 Broomfield
Defense, defense, defense,
Broomfield has plenty of it with a D highlighted by DT Matt Bellinder and LB
Nick Zissimos. Add move in John Hickey and his playmaking ability and points
should be tough to find for Eagle opponents.
#6 Greeley West
The offense will be lead by what
could be 4As most savvy QB in Rex Morgan, but it might be defense where the
Spartans shine brightest. Sack leader Justin Waterman, tackling machine Gavin
Miller and playmaker Andrew Downing all return.
#7 Wheat Ridge
Do it all Parker Orms should get
a ton of chances to make plays on both sides of the ball. R.J. Trione will highlight the Farmer
line for a team that is now in the position to defend their state title.
#8 Pueblo South
The Colts will once again pile up
wins early in the season, but they will need to transfer that success to the
playoffs where they have gone home early the last two seasons. South will rely on a strong run game
powered by big offensive lineman Ken Harriman.
#9 Pine Creek
Pine Creek returns numerous
players from a 9-2 campaign. Chief
among the returnees is versatile QB Jake Roberson who is solid as a runner and a
passer.
#10 George Washington
Washington returns numerous
players on both the offensive and defensive line. The key to Washington’s success will be
a defense headed by run stuffing DT Helios Villanueva and playmaker Joe Harris.
Each week throughout the
season PrepColorado will bring you the 4A and 5A rankings as well as
an all division power ranking.
