Latest Offer for Mullen RB

Mullen RB Jonathan Gaye

RB Jonathan Gaye from Mullen HS (Denver, CO) is now starting to rack up the offers. See who his latest offer is from...

The Boise State Broncos are the sixth team to offer RB Jonathan Gaye from Mullen HS. Gaye previously held offers from Illinois, Colorado State, Wyoming, Air Force and New Mexico State.

On Boise State:

"I've been talking to Boise State for months. It seems like these guys really do a lot of homework before they offer. They say they try to find sleepers who are for the most part being overlooked by the big programs and hope they can hang on to them once the big programs take notice. That's how they got Ian Johnson, their sophomore running back who was a candidate for the Heisman Thropy last year. Boise State told me they think I could be their next Ian Johnson. I know that sounds like a bunch of hype but at the same time I can't help but think they might know what they're talking about. To be the WAC Champions five years in a row, to be the only undefeated team in division-1 last year and to beat a powerhouse like Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl last year, probably the best college game I've ever seen, they must be doing something right."

"Their coach said before this week they had not offered any running backs for the class of 2008. He said they've been reviewing a lot of film and doing a lot of research to make sure they had the right guy to fit their system. He said this week they were finally ready to make an offer and they decided to offer 2 running back, me and some other kid from Texas."

So what other schools are showing interest?

"I'm hearing a lot from Minnesota, Washington, Washington State, Kansas, Kansas State and Arizona State. Some of these schools might still offer before the season starts but a lot of them want me to come to their camps. And then I have other schools like Notre Dame, Boston College, Georgia, Wisconsin and Louisville that seem really interested but they're telling me they want to see additional film after my first two games in 2008. They say they really like what they see from my first couple of games last year, before my injury, but they want to see some stuff from this year before they can make a decision. I don't know, at this point, having missed most of my junior year, I'm just really grateful for the offers I have. We'll see what happens. I just don't want to drag this out too long"

How are you getting ready ready for the upcoming season?

"I feel like it's time to start getting ready for the upcoming season. I'd like to lead my team a state championship. Not just get to the championship, but win it again! And with the awesome offensive line we have, I'd like to take a shot at breaking the single season rushing record but that might be hard because once we get out in front of other teams coach usually puts in the 2nd and 3rd string players. But that's ok, that's how I got to play varsity as a freshman back when we had Maurice Greer."
