Anderson Cements Status

Anderson Cements Status

As both an athlete and recruit 2015 Colorado Springs Pine Creek DB Avery Anderson sent a message about his game.

Over the past few days 2015 Colorado Springs athlete Avery Anderson has done much to cement his status as an athlete and as a Nebraska commit. Dominating a big time 7on7 tournament and picking up a new offer from a solid program have made this a very interesting week for Anderson.

Athletically, the 6-1 175 pound Pine Creek High School defensive back put on a show at the Heartland Elite 7on7. Helping his Team Weapon X squad win the championship of the tourney, Anderson has named defensive MVP. Further, Anderson put his length and 4.4 speed to use working with 7on7 and Pine Creek teammate QB Tommy Lazzaro to make plays on offense. The duo of Anderson and Lazzaro, as well as multiple other returnees, should help Pine Creek make a run at defending their 2013 4A title.

As a commit, Anderson confirmed to PrepColorado that he is solid with Nebraska. Earlier this week Kansas State jumped into the sweepstakes for Colorado DB talent by offering both Anderson and his Team Weapon X mate Eric Lee of Valor Christian. Anderson currently has no plans regarding other schools and has no offers other than Nebraska and Kansas State, but with increasing national attention it will be interesting to see who goes after this very intriguing athlete.

Anderson put an exclamation point on the weekend stating it is, "great to show what Colorado athletes can do."
