Fairview remains unbeaten and has now faced the meat of their schedule and should finish the regular season as unbeaten conference champs. The hero in this week’s big 33-30 win against Pomona was senior Cameron Frazier who had a 97-yard kickoff return for a score, a 9-yard touchdown pass and a rush TD.
In the hard fought, close contest Frazier had 232 total yards.
Legend, 6-2, has won two straight posting 37 and 49 points the past two games. Legend Junior QB Peyton Remy threw 346 yards and four touchdowns in this weekend’s 49-25 victory over Rock Canyon. Over the past two games Remy has thrown for 644 yards and seven scores.
Since a close loss to Cherry Creek, Cherokee Trail has put together two straight wins. Friday night the star for the Cougars was junior Cameron Smith rushed for 269 yards and four TDs. The big effort for Smith marks the fourth straight game he has rushed for 130 yards or more.
Denver South’s Zach Lindsay, one of Colorado’s best all around players, has been getting after it offensively of late. In Friday’s win over Dakota Ridge Lindsay rushed for 214 yards. The previous week, in a win over Wheat Ridge Lindsay had 240 rush yards.
A prolific hidden running duo in 5A is that of Cole Barrone and R.J. Ramirez of Prairie View. For the season the pair has combined for well over 2,000 yards. This
week Ramirez returned two punts for scores in a victory over Lincoln.
Another run duo that had a big weekend was QB David Sommers and RB Ryan Younggreen of Holy Family. In a 39-28 win against Frederick, Sommers rushed for 150 and Younggreen had 204 rush yards.
Broomfield running back Noah Tripp had 225 rush yards in a 21-13 win over Montbello.
Junior quarterback Clint Sigg of Longmont rushed for four scores and threw another in a 50-12 victory over Niwot. Currently the Trojans are riding a six game win streak.
Coronado High School of Colorado Springs is currently 9-0. The current win total surpasses the last four seasons combined.
Kalen Ballage 272 rush yards and six scores in dominating win over Air Academy.
Christian McCaffrey had three receiving TDs on six catches and a rush touchdown in a win over Palmer.
