RB Bernard McDondle of Columbine

With multiple great games, OT victories and a suprising upset, Colorado high school football provided a big week of action.

In a ridiculous track meet, Bernard McDondle rushed for over 280 yards and had six scores as Columbine out scored Chatfield 50-43. Chatfield junior QB Kyle Winkler threw for 294 yards in the loss the first of the season for the Chargers.

In potentially one of the biggest upsets so far this season, Durango rallied to defeat 5A Grand Junction 34-33 in overtime. The Demons blocked Grand Junction's PAT in the OT setting up the opportunity for the victory. Dave Logan of Durango, an out of state transfer, scored the final TD and the Demons converted the extra point. Logan, the surprise of the night had four scores and over 200 yards rushing against one of 5As best squads.

Cherry Creek held on to defeat Cherokee Trail 28-27 in an exciting Centennial Conference game between top 10 teams. Cherokee Trail scored with under 30 seconds left in an attempt to tie the game but the important PAT failed leaving the Cougars one point shy. Mistakes plagued Cherokee Trail all night with multiple fumbles, two interceptions and the costly missed extra point. Taking advantage, Cherry Creek used three TD runs DJ Luke to get the win.

After last week's loss to Fairview, Ralston Valley put one in the win column taking care of Boulder 47-7. The win sets up a big conference matchup next week against 5-1 Pomona who last night defeated Legacy 35-21.

A young Mullen squad made a valiant run coming back from 21 down to force overtime against 5-1 Arapahoe. The Mustangs came up short in the OT and the Warriors held on for the 28-21 victory.

Broomfield picked up its third straight victory in a 47-7 rout against George Washington.

Discovery Canyon scored 35 first half points and never looked back as they defeated Lewis-Palmer 42-14. With the win the Thunder are sitting at 6-1.

A strong run game that saw Drue Harris and Charles Tigner combined for five rushing TDs as Fountain-Fort Carson in a must win, defeated Legend 40-21.

Despite nearly 200 rush yards from Kalen Ballage Pine Creek was able to give Falcons their first loss as Pine Creek prevailed 29-13.

Doherty came back from last week's loss to Legend with a 53-28 victory over Rock Canyon. Doherty next has the tough task of taking on Valor Christian.

Regis, who looked ragged early after last week's big win over ThuderRidge, imposed their running game in the second half to defeat
Douglas County 31-16.
