Despite holding multiple FCS offers, 2013 Rock Canyon RB Eric Williams has decided to walk on at Colorado State University. Williams says he sat down with his family this past weekend and made the decision to play for the Rams despite having to take the tough road of a preferred walk on. Regarding being a walk on Williams says, "I'm always going to bust my butt to get a starting job and being a preferred walk on is just going to add more to my drive."
The versatile Williams rushed for over 3,300 yards the past two seasons while also playing on the defensive side of the ball. Williams, who held offers from Valparaiso and South Dakota State, also gained military academy attention based on his game and strong GPA. Williams says Colorado State has talked to him about playing running back or safety.
Looking to be part of helping CSU rebuild, Williams is exciting to play for the Rams and Coach McElwain. Excited to be a Ram Williams states, "I'm excited about what Colorado State can become and I will be a part of that. Plus, I will get to help turn around Colorado State football with in state kids."
