Quarterback-The pick came down to Del Rio and Max Kuhns of Chaparral and I went back and forth multiple times but when it came down to it, Del Rio’s efficiency all season put him over the top. Del Rio, as we all know, is the son of a former linebacker and may have gotten some tough guy points for playing with an injury most of the season.
Luke Del Rio 6-2 200 Valor Christian SR
Running Back-Almost put in Ryan Moeller of Rifle and rightfully so, great kid, great season, great career. In the end McCaffrey was too versatile and Jackson rushed for over 3,000 yards! You can’t leave off a player who rushed for 3,000 yards!
Christian McCaffrey 6-0 195 Valor Christian JR
Derek Jackson 5-9 170 Pueblo West SR
Tight End- I really like Arapahoe’s Ethan Brunhofer, but Parson continued his productivity despite teams focused on stopping him.
Mitch Parsons 6-4 240 Chaparral SR
Wide Receiver-I’m a sucker for big receivers who make big plays and Martin and Gentry fit the bill. Both had the knack for a making big catches at the right time.
Sam Martin 6-3 180 Fairview JR
Tanner Gentry 6-2 190 Grandview SR
Offensive Line-Almost always the deepest position in Colorado, Sam Jones of ThunderRidge and Blake Nowland of Douglas County had their names on this list before I settled on the final five.
Chris Fox 6-6 310 Ponderosa SR
Dan Skipper 6-10 295 Ralston Valley Sr
Jake Bennett 6-3 275 Bear Creek SR
Tiny Noller 6-3 300 Windsor JR
Austin Beswick 6-3 270 Monarch SR
