Horizon looks poised to once again bring home the Front Range title.

Favorite: Horizon

Horizon looks more than capable of repeating and potentially building on last season’s 9-2 record. A talented core of players returns keeping the momentum moving. Foremost is Dustin Rivas. Rivas, a defensive back and receiver, is one of Colorado’s best two way players boasting nine touchdown catches on O and six picks on D. Chad Davis and Chad Reffel will handle the carries and hopefully give new QB Austin Stackhouse time to adjust. Defensive lineman Easton Robbins returns and should be able to pin back his ears with last year’s defensive backfield returning intact. Last season the Hawks pitched six shutouts and if they can once again approach those numbers should gain a conference title and playoff berth.

Contender: Fort Collins

Last season was strange for the Lambkins as Head Coach Eric Rice served a suspension for practice violations. The Lambkins had a late season meltdown losing their final four games and posting a rare sub .500 record. This season, like last season, Fort Collins will be lead by diverse talents Jake Hanks and Chase Thurgood. Both are All-Conference caliber players who have the ability to play in multiple spots on both sides of the ball, Hanks and Thurgood should give an inexperienced offensive line and new QB time to grow.

Sleeper: Poudre

The Impalas rarely lack for talent and hopefully new Head Coach Dan Reardon can help get them back to their glory days. Reardon, a recent as the 2010 season, brought a Ohio State title to Ursuline High School. Look for a physical brand of football under Reardon. Junior Spencer Long and seniors Justin Moreng and Andrew Meyers are key to the defense.

Best of the Rest:

Mountain Range, will, if an inexperienced line steps up, have the ability to run the ball with QB Tom Commander(Best QB Name Ever!) and RB Preston Deherera. Defensive End Keonte Moore returns.

When Rocky Mountain was at its best offense was the key, but it may be defense that allows them to compete this year in the Front Range. Defenders Daniel Hunter, Josh Knotek Anthony Judish, Ryan Murphy and Denzel Meyers all return.
