Previous to practice getting underway, some of Colorado's finest prep football athletes checked in with PrepColorado. In the course of the conversation the players highlighted teammates, relatively unknown who the fee will have breakthrough 2012 seasons.

Longmont two way lineman Marcus Johnson feels fellow defensive linemen Joe Lopez and Connor McIntosh are ready to go. The trio of Johnson, Lopez and McIntosh will make yards hard to come by in between the tackles against Longmont.

While Johnson highlights his fellow big men, Valor defensive tackle Stanley Gilbert highlights a skill player for the Eagles the he feels will go big this season. According to Gilbert senior receiver Alex Ulmer is ready for a breakout campaign. Only getting limited looks last season, Ulmer could be new QB Luke Del Rio's go to target.

Another defender giving props to an offensive player is Windsor DE Sean Glenn saying watch out for receiver Alex Baldwin. Last year the 6-1 Baldwin went big on limited catches averaging over 24 yards a reception.

Grand Junction DE Austin Berk feels running back Austin Lewis and quarterback Tyler Heinsma will do just fine replacing All-Staters Jerreon Dennis and Sean Rubalcaba.

Seasoned linebacker Castille Bayers of Mullen is very impressed with young defensive lineman Terrell Washington. Bayers is very happy to have the 280 pound Washington eating up blockers up front so Bayers can scrap clean and make plays.

Rock Canyon's all everything back Eric Williams feels teammate Bryan Goldberg will put his sprinter's speed to good use and help Williams with some of Rock Canyon's offensive load.

Whether these players step up is yet to be seen, but there is no doubt many top players will emerge between the lines when the season soon starts.
