Last night PrepColorado learned and today confirmed that Grand Junction two way lineman James Diamante had opted to play his college football at the University of Wyoming. The 6-5 295 pound Diamante, was, by many accounts the top uncommitted player remaining in Colorado.
Over the past few weeks Diamante saw his profile increase as he gained attention and offers from multiple schools. Recruited on both sides of the ball, Diamante opted for the Cowboys over Northern Colorado, New Mexico State and South Dakota.
In July, when Diamante visited Wyoming, the coaching staff indicated they would like James to play on the defensive side of the ball. Last season, as a defensive tackle Diamante was part of a very strong Grand Junction defense.
