Currently one of it not the top uncommitted player in the state of Colorado is 2013 Denver East running back Shahid Hoover. Hoover, a productive runner since his sophomore season, averaged over seven yards a carry for his East Angels. A strong runner with tremendous balance and vision, Hoover has gained three DI offers with Arizona State, Colorado State and UConn all in the running for his services. Although no clear favorite has emerged, Hoover is taking a hard look at his contenders and sketching out a timeline for his commit.
Hoover's most recent visit came last week as he attended camp at Arizona State. Hoover likes the Sun Devils and cites the sun, staff, program and the opportunity to play with high school teammate Ezekiel Bishop as reasons why Tempe looks good. Hoover also likes Colorado State, singling out the coaching staff at Fort Collins. Also a new suitor, Alcorn State, can be added to the list of schools looking at Hoover.
Hoover, who has also taken time to coach at youth football camps this summer, is done taking trips for the summer and will concentrate on his Denver East squad. Hoover's timeline for making a decision could extend to January or, if things feel right, he could pull the trigger as early as the start of the season.
