Recruiting Roundup

Valor's Carlos Aviles

A look at football recruiting news from across the state of Colorado.

Film Doesn't Lie

Went back and reviewed film on Columbine two way lineman John Lisella. Lisella, June commit to Colorado, is going, at some point, contribute to the Buffs. He is a long 6-5 and will add weight. Watching his film I was most impressed with his ability to redirect. His feet are not heavy and he moves well in multiple directions. This is not an easy task for big kids. I attribute this not only to his surprising athleticism but to his time playing lacrosse. This attribute, along with a 4.9 forty and strong motor, are qualities that stand out on film. Also, I was impressed with his play as a defensive end. Looking at his future prospects for the Buffs one could project Lisella using his versatility to be a utility offensive lineman.

2015 Denver East QB Cody Summers was MVP of the National Underclassmen Combine in Los Angeles last week and has followed that up with an appearance this week at the Peyton Manning quarterback camp and a trip to Tempe for camp at Arizona State next weekend. Summers will travel with teammate Shahid Hoover who is getting a very serious look from the Sun Devils.

Travels and More Travels

Mullen linebacker Castille Bayers, like many in state players, will soon hit camp in Boulder. Bayers will also take trips to Iowa and Purdue later this month.

Bayers' teammate Collin Albershardt recently met with the coach from Lehigh and made a visit to Fordham. Albershardt, a very strong student, also made a visit to Yale and camped at Princeton. Along with his travels, team and personal workouts, Albershardt has found the time to coach at a youth football camp this week as well. Impressive!

Northglenn big man Alex Garcia will camp a Colorado and then hit the Western State camp the following week.

2013 Heritage gunslinger Ryan Novak says Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado continue to show interest in his game.

Early Colorado State commit Austin Berk of Grand Junction says he is still getting contacted by Utah, Boise State and Duke. The productive defensive end will hit camp at Colorado State later this month.

Longmont QB Forrest Wetterstrom, hard at work with his team, will hit camps at Colorado State and CSU-Pueblo later this month.

Explosive Valor Christian linebacker Carlos Aviles may get the mileage award having just returned from Kenya on a school sponsored mission trip. The trip has become a tradition for many of Valor's top football athletes. Good Stuff! Recommended Stories
