2013 Colorado forward Austin Sparks makes college choice.

Current Boulder Fairview forward Austin Sparks has opted to play his college ball at the University of South Dakota. The 6-8 Sparks had a monster junior campaign at Valor Christian scoring 16.7 points a game, 9.5 rebounds and over three blocks while leading his team to the semis of the state tournament.

The 6-8 195 pound Sparks has the ability to play both forward positions and can get to the rim and hit the outside shot. One of the key reasons for Sparks’ USD commit is Head Coach Dave Boots, who has fostered the Coyotes for the past 25 seasons.

Sparks, who has had a very successful spring and summer for his Colorado Chaos club squad, could parlay his versatility as well as his rebounding and defense into early playing time at South Dakota.
