Next year Del Rio picks school could be the headline when 2013 signal caller Luke Del Rio makes his college decision. For now it refers to his decision to enroll at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Earlier today the Denver Post reported that Del Rio, the son of former Jacksonville Jaguar Head Coach and now Denver Bronco Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio, opted to attend Valor Christian over Cherry Creek.
With his decision Del Rio adds to a Valor team that has quickly climbed to the top of Colorado prep football having won three state titles in its short existence. Further, Valor is a hotbed for DI talent producing multiple DI players in each of the last two years. If Del Rio secures the starting quarterback position he will work with talented skill players in Christian McCaffrey, Daryl Hawkins and Cameron Gray.
Last season at Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, Del Rio threw for 2,530 yards and 20 touchdowns. The 6-2 190 pounder has drawn early attention from multiple schools across the nation.
