Top players and big performances continue to drive their teams to wins.

Broomfield Head Coach Gary Davies and senior RB Jose Fraire were both very happy that Fraire was back on the field this weekend. In a 36-6 win over Loveland Fraire rushed for three scores and registered over 170 yards rushing.

Sophomore Christian McCaffrey continues his strong season. This week in a shutout against 5A power Pomona, traditionally one of the tougher defensive teams in Colorado, McCaffrey combined for over 200 yards of offense as he rushed for 91 yards and had 134 receiving yards in the win.

Arapahoe is a surprise 4-0 based largely on the very solid work of senior QB Alec Geiser. For the season Geiser has 11 TDs against only three interceptions. This week in a 27-9 win against Overland, Geiser threw for 193 yards and three scores.

Another QB whose high level of play is paying off for their team is Forrest Wetterstrom of Longmont. The junior has moved Longmont to 5-0 on the season throwing 11 TD passes against only one interception. In a Friday night win over Greeley Central Wetterstrom flirted with perfection going 14-15 and throwing four touchdown passes.

If there is a player having a better season than Highlands Ranch senior Joe Hansley I'm not sure who it is. The 5-10 170 pound senior has gone over the 200 yard mark multiple times already this season including the 271 yards he put on Ponderosa this week. On top of the rushing yards Hansley has registered double digit receptions as well as also picking off three passes on defense. A month into the season it would tough not to pick Hansley as MVP.

As impressive as Hansley's numbers were this week the performance of the weekend belongs to Rock Canyon junior Eric Williams. In a 54-20 win over Falcon Williams rushed for 309 yards scored on three rushes, returned an interception for a score and registered two sacks. WOW!

Devante Johnson of now 4-0 Mesa Ridge is four games into the season and just shy of 1,000 yards. He bolstered his push for a 2,000 yard season by rushing for 276 yards this weekend against Pueblo South. On the year, Johnson, a senior is averaging over 11 yards a carry.

Kyle Trinidad of Denver Kennedy had over 270 yards rushing this weekend, three rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown in a big win over Arvada.

Chandon Rose of undefeated Grand Junction had four TD receptions in a win over Westminster.

Austin Apodaca threw four early touchdown passed as Silver Creek handled Sterling this weekend.

Aaron Johnson of Vista Ridge had three catches for scores as Vista Ridge defeated Pueblo Central.
