PrepColorado has learned that Arvada West offensive lineman Paul Thurston will play his college football at the University of Nebraska. According to Thurston the Husker lifting program, journalism department and emphasis on the offensive line were the three main factors in his decision.
Regarding his decision Thurston stated, "I felt at home and I just had a gut feeling." Over the past few seasons Nebraska has been very successful pulling top offensive line talent from Colorado. Former Bear Creek lineman Jeremiah Sirles and former Douglas County lineman Mike Moudy both are also part of the Nebraska offensive line unit.
Thurston reports he will play offensive guard for the Huskers a position he is excited about due to his ability to his, "ability to move, pull and lock up on linebackers."
Thurston said he is happy about making his decision early so he can, "focus on my team, be with my teammates and get ready for next season." Currently Thurston plans on starting classes at Nebraska during the summer of 2012.
