5-10 190 pound running back Eric Williams set a strong tone for the remainder of his high school career this past season rushing for over 1,100 yards and 17 scores for his Rock Canyon squad. Along with his yards on the ground, Williams added 483 receiving yards and contributed on defense with 51 tackles and an interception. For his hard work and production Williams was awarded All-Conference and All-State honors.
The 2013 prospect, who self reports a 4.59 forty yards dash, is a no nonsense runner who finds his hole, plants his foot and gets north and south. Most impressive about Williams' running style is his finish. Although just a sophomore, Williams lowers his head and gets yards after contact. Currently weighing 190 if he gets bigger and maintains or improves his speed, Williams could become an even more prolific back. An additional aspect of Williams' game is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Rock Canyon runs multiple screens and swings with the sole purposes of getting Williams in space.
Augmenting his play on the field, Williams is a 3.86 student who is already, as a sophomore, taking AP and honors courses. With continued production on the field as well as strong grades, this 2013 back, could over the next two seasons, gain the attention of multiple college programs.
